Never Ending Card
These are really easy to make. What makes these card unique and really cool is that you continue to fold each side back, revealing another side and continue to fold the sides back. There are a total of 6 views of the card and the views are different depending on which side you open first. As seen above, when opened one way the writing is shown by itself; when opened the other way, the baby girl & duck stickers are shown by themselves. The only problem is when you open it from the opposite side the images will be upside down... as shown below:
You'll need:
- 4 pieces of cardstock: 6 inches by 3 inches
- A bone folder
- Glue or Adhesive
- Whatever you want to decorate your card with... Paper, Ribbon, Stickers, Ink, etc.
Directions:
- Cut the pieces of cardstock to the measurements above
- Use the bone folder to make two creases 1.5" in on the horizontal/6" side and a crease at the 1.5" mark on the verticle/3" side (going down the middle)
- You should have two 1.5" x 1.5" squares at the top and 2 at the bottom of each piece
- Lay 2 of the pieces of cardstock horizontally on your table or work station and apply glue or adhesive to the outter squares (if you look above or below at my card, place the glue where the hand and foot prints are)
- Lay the other 2 pieces of cardstock on top vertically (in the opposite direction) and glue the outter squares together.
- Let dry
- When you're done you will have a card that is 6" x 6"... except in the 3rd view, which has 3" x 1.5" gaps missing on each side, making the measurements a little bit different (see pictures above)
- Decorate
Tip: you can decorate it any way you wish but its easiest to know the measurements first. Its best to figure out how the card folds first before decorating it, just making it easier to decorate.
I used 2.75 in x 2.75 in squares on all 4 sides, along with either 2.75 in x 1.25 in squares or 1.25 x 1.25 squares... but you can decorate it anyway you want

Beach LO
I tied the ribbon in a bow and put it behind the flower, the twisted it across the top and down the side, securing it with glue. Here are some close ups of the ribbon and alpha brads

Cupcakes
Left: close up of the top: layers of fabric, lace, and ribbon, topped with paint, buttons & a cherry on top
Right: with the card pulled out
I'll post a tutorial for these when I make the next one. In the mean time, if you'd like to try to make them there are tutorials on Ingvild Bolme's Blog and on YouTube. I used steps from both and put them together to make mine. They're pretty easy to make and you can't burn them! haha...

Flashback of some LOs
All Here is Reese sleeping when she was 6 weeks old. I love this picture because she looks like such a little doll. I used a lot of Tim Holtz distressing ink in Broken China on this LO and even inked the ribbon on the right.
Here is Miss Reese at the hospital when she was 4 hours old. I clipped her birth announcement from the paper for it too. I framed the picture using prima flowers, cutting them in half & gluing them under the photo. I distressed the edges of the paper & stamped the corners and added some pearls.
I love this colorful LO. This is Reese playing outside this summer. My favorite thing about this page are the ribbon and eyelets. I wanted to fit all the pictures bc they were all so cute so I cut them in circles to get them to fit. I then punched eyelets and threaded blue ribbon through to create a border around the circle. I added more circles with the pps & flowers.

An all purple LO... I wanted to use purple to match her shirt and it turned into all different shades of purple, which is fine because I love the color. This was my first time using cardboard, I love the look of it on LOs and you can do so much with it. I painted it purple obviously and used it to matte the photo. I also inked it with Tim Holtz ink in Dusty Concord and did a lot of inking of the rest of the page. I added some flowers and pearls, eyelet letters from Making Memories, and spelt her name with the playing cards. I tried to make it look distressed while still keeping it bright and girly.
Reese's Firsts. I love this picture of her, she was 6 months old here but I wanted to use it on this page with a list of her firsts (up until August). I kept it simple because the journaling is supposed to be the main focus and added a few other details. I tore & inked the journaling to make it look distressed & aged and inked the edges of the page. I did a big tear in the paper with stitching just to add a little something so it wasn't too simple. I've been trying to think of a way to add a journaling card so her mom can write down more of her firsts (she'll be walking soon) but I just can't come up with anything good so for now it'll stay like this and maybe make a new LO for her next firsts... :-)
Those are a few of my favorite LOs... to see more check out my gallery at scrapbook.com:
